Yeah I've been there, I have a cousin who lives about 10 blocks up there is no parking, so good luck withthat, but it is a nice theater.
It is a very nice theater. You don't need to drive, though. Just take the 1 to 66th st. or the 1, 2, or 3 to 72nd st and walk a couple blocks to the theatre.
Anyone been to AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 with IMAX NYC Good parking? Nice theater?oper opera theater
You must be from out of town, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR!!! Suburban drivers in SUVs should be banned from the city!! very nice theater,
nice theater. i saw superman and harry potter there. make sure you go early if it's an opening weekend. way early, like at least 2 hours prior. so you would get the seat all the way at the back. i was once late and only got a seat at the front, couldn't see the whole screen.
Have you ever been in a movie theater and had to change seats due to BO?. I went to movies at AMC theaters. Our seat was in the last row and everything was fine. A couple of guys came and sat in front of us. Oh my God, their BO was beyond anything. We had to change seats. Has it happened to you. Why don't these people take showers.
yea .... not only in movie theaters ! the smell can b revolting. I don't think it's ONLY bcos they don't shower, some people have BO which is undetectable by themself, n no one dare tell them. How do we tell anyone without them taking offence, anyway? Pls ... can someone give us all a clue/hint here
Have you ever been in a movie theater and had to change seats due to BO?theater opera theater
that happened to me too. except i couldn't find out who the stinky culprit was. it was either the lady next to me who i thought was a man, or the kids behind me.
i've never had the BO problem...but that is nasty...one time i sat next to a man that was eating so much popcorn and candy throughout the whole entire movie and i could smell every bite he was taking....quite annoying
not at the theater but in the store I have,,,
The last time I was in a theater it was packed and someone (guy) was wearing colonge. OMG......I could not wait for the movie to be over because I was gagging on the smell
Never had the B.O. problem but I had to run around the thearte during the lord of rings because the whole place smelled like garlic. They serve nachos at the thearte and it seemed like I'd get away from one muching/crunching garlic slob then I'd end up next to another one. It was gross.
I work at an AMC theater and one of my duties sometimes is cleaning the popcorn popper. Unfortunately I'm a little unsure about how to do it and if I ask for help again my coworkers probably won't be too happy. Can someone give me step-by-step instructions? I know there's know way to know if the popper you use and the one I use are the same, but I doubt the differences will be too major, so if I encounter them, I can work around them.

This has happened to me 2x now in the past 3 months. I get free consession stand items at AMC Cinemas with the Movie Card. 2 times now I have had one of those Blue Raspberry Arctic Blast drinks (along with popcorn there) and both times I got very sick when I got home. Felt like I had a stomach virus or food poisoning. I know I will NEVER have one of these drinks again. But I was wondering if anyone else ever got sick from one of these drinks OR if they know what's in them.
Thanks.
No but I've gotten sick from a drink like that before at a low end place like a gas station- those drinks are loaded w/ sugar...its horrible for your digestive system and stomach. Def. wanna stay away from them. Get a smoothie w/ fruit instead or a milk shake at a trusted place.
Hey guys, I was wondering what the decibels is at AMC movie theaters. Can you get hearing damage from the movies there?
There are many possible causes of hearing loss. These can be divided into two basic types, called conductive and sensorineural hearing loss.
Conductive hearing loss is caused by anything that interferes with the transmission of sound from the outer to the inner ear. Possible causes include:
middle ear infections (otitis media)
collection of fluid in the middle ear ("glue ear" in children)
blockage of the outer ear (by wax)
damage to the eardrum by infection or an injury
otosclerosis, a condition in which the ossicles of the middle ear become immobile because of growth of the surrounding bone
rarely, rheumatoid arthritis affects the joints between the ossicles.
Sensorineural hearing loss is due to damage to the pathway for sound impulses from the hair cells of the inner ear to the auditory nerve and the brain. Possible causes include:
age-related hearing loss - the decline in hearing that many people experience as they get older
!-acoustic trauma (injury caused by loud noise) to the hair cells
viral infections of the inner ear (may be caused by viruses such as mumps or measles)
M茅ni猫re's disease (abnormal pressure in the inner ear)
certain drugs, such as aspirin, quinine and some antibiotics, which can affect the hair cells
acoustic neuroma, a benign (non-cancerous) tumour affecting the auditory nerve
viral infections of the auditory nerve (such as mumps and rubella)
infections or inflammation of the brain or brain covering - eg meningitis
multiple sclerosis
a brain tumour
a stroke
Accoustic Trauma can be a one time occuance or longer term loss from being around loud sounds. So, yes, visiting a loud theater CAN cause damage. This does not mean it WILL, but it can. Just as loud radio music, loud motorcycles, loud voices etc can also cause hearing loss to a susceptible ear drum.

IF YOU CAN'T GET DAMAGE THERE THEN YOU HAVE TO BE PRETTY MUCH SAFE ANYWHERE ELSE!
I hate AMC theaters, they are a rip off, and now all Lowes theaters are AMC's too. Its bullsh*t! Matinee used to start at 6 and now its 4, tickets are more, and the food is more. Way to ruin my favortie passtime.
I remember seeing this on tv last summer. Its called a merge cause it has to do with the way the ownership - stock, is transfered. The lowes stockholders got shares in the new amc/lowes company. Theres usually a percentage. This is as opposed to an aquisition, where one company pays a dollar amount per share to the share holders of the old company.
I agree, I am sick of going to the movies and paying 9 bucks and then 8 bucks for popcorn and movies. I remember seeing star trek 6 at AMC and it was 3 dollars for the ticket and 3 dollars for the popcorn and soda.

Just wandered what the starting pay was at AMC theaters
Minimum wage unless the theater is in a locale where other retail/fast food type jobs pays higher.
This question applies to anyone that has been fired from AMC theaters. On the website workbrain, if it says you are scheduled for a training class for like 2 hours on a random day even though you have been working there for at least a month, does that mean you are getting fired?
Many places of business have these training days. It doesn't mean that a person's getting fired. It means that when the person was hired the training class was not available for one reason or another. Usually these trainings are mandatory, so show up.
are there any down town?

RAVE Motion Pictures, AMC Theaters, Cinemark, Regal, or Studio Movie Grill. What is the best place to experience a Motion Picture in its true essence?
Don't know what this question has to do with Marriage or Divorce, but I prefer AMC.
I agree man. I have not gone to the movies and paid full price in at least 5 years. I go to the "Cheap" movies. They get the movies usually 3 months or so after the normal theaters. Any night of the week is $1 to get in. I don't "need" to be one of the first people to see a movie like a lot of Americans.
Also, I have not been to a Pro-Sporting Event in so long I can remember. Got catch a college baseball game. Tickets are no more then $5 and the money is going to a good place.
Yes, I think rthey charge to much for a movie Report It
Should we all boycott AMC theaters? I believe they are way over priced and their policies are ridiculous?london theatre opera theater
When was the last time you checked the prices for a major league baseball game or NFL or NBA game?
When was the last time you ever checked the prices for a rock concert?
Americans seem to have so much disposable income that we'll pay hundreds of dollars in a single night for entertainment.
I don't think it is so much the theatres as it is the production companies that release the movies. How much does it cost them to run a movie? With these stars making more and more money and all the special effects now, it has to be recouped. The fight needs to start at the top.
then we should boycott everything, which is ok. that includes insurance companys, gas stations, and every other business that is sucking our blood.
So go to a different theater? lol I personally don't mind their prices. You don't have to go...it's a luxury. People are already going to the movies less than they used to, and the prices are going up because of it. So it's quite possible that the less people who go, the more the prices will go up. WIth home theater systems coming into play, I can see movie theaters vanishing in years to come. You will be able to watch a new movie right from your own living room. I've already read stuff about it being a possibility.
Your call. People vote with their pocketbooks. That is, they spend their money where they get the most for it.
Are you upset enough with AMC to not go there? You just answered your own question.
Did u like it? I had fun but they didn;t pay much. I loved the free movies !
loved it!! the pay was horrible but it was tons of fun.
free movies, soda and popcorn but now i'm not too good with popcorn.

What do they ask you if anyone has had an interview with them and I know a lot of places ask "What will you bring to this company?", how do I answer that?
Thanks!
Make sure you have eye contact and smile alot. Be outgoing and friendly. Tell them you are responsible, reliable, and hard working. People like to hear that. Also, dress in slacks and a button up shirt. Make it seem like you WANT the job and you are very willing to learn. Speak about previous jobs and if u have none say your teachers at school praise you for your great team work skills. (people like to know that you can work well with others) good luck!

Prices vary a little based on where you live, but for 2 sodas and a popcorn big enough to share, be prepared to spend about $20.

How old do u have to be to work at amc theaters and also how old do u have to be to work at american eagle?opera sheet music opera theater
In Georgia, the legal working age is 16. Of course, some bars/restaurants/ and so forth, will not hire anyone under the age of 18. But to work in GA, the age is 16.
That is without the need of a work permit; which has to be signed by your legal guardian and the work permit has restrictions, such as how many hours you can work per week.
What questions will they ask? What should I prepare for?
You have received some terrific advice here. The only thing that I would add is to have a question of your own ready. Usually at the end of the interview they will ask if you have any questions. Here are a couple that you can change a little and make your own.
Based on our meeting today, how do you feel I've done for my first interview?
or
What characteristics do you feel are the most important for ( fill in the position for which you are applying)
Good luck.
Im 15 and going for my first ever job interterview for amc theaters. Any advice?city opera opera theater
Speak confidently and clearly, be on time and act professionally.
dress to impress because first impressions r very important and also try not to say anything wrong. be nice too.
They will ask things like "tell me about yourself" and might ask "why should I hire you?" or something like "Why do you want to work here?"
Just be yourself and answer honestly. Try not to be nervous, and think before you speak.
Good luck!
Be clean, don't use too much make-up/perfume/cologne, don't act like a know-it-all even if you do know, ask questions, make your answers short and to the point, don't involve your personal life and relax and be yourself and you'll do fine. Even if you don't get the job the experience is invaluable!!!! Good Luck!!!
Be honest with your answers. Nothing is more irritating to an employer than finding out that you misrepresented yourself in the interview and aren't a good fit for the job after they've hired you. It's wasted time on everyone's part.
Make an effort to look presentable (wear clean, nice clothing in a neutral color and lose the weird jelwery). Be polite and friendly. They're most likely looking for someone who can be friendly and social. If you can carry on a decent conversation, chances are they'll hire you.
Smile because you'll be in front of people. The manager will notice that. Be honest . If you lie the manager will notice. GOOD LUCK! Remember, be yourself
basic questions, tell me about yourself, what are your strengths/weaknesses, give me an example of how you overcame a stressful situation. Be confident and rehearse possible answers before you go in. They will want relevant examples from work or sports. Tell them you want the job because you feel that the responisbility will help add to your character and it will help you have some spending cash. Also mention that it will be good experience.
BE CONFIDENT AND GOOD LUCK
Be yourself, and dress professionally. Do not chew gum. Think about positive qualities that you have, and let them know that you will be a great employee. They may ask why you want to work there, and what is a weakness you have. When they ask about a weakness try to think of something that is a weakness, but positive as well. For example I have a strong desire to help others, and sometimes that can be a weakness for me whenever the person I am trying to help does not appreciate it, because that hurts my feelings. To work at a movie theater you need to be good with people if you are selling tickets or at the concession make sure that you explain why you like working with people, and that you are a people person. That you can handle stressful situations, and still maintain yourself appropriately.
Since this is your first job interview, they will want to know about you. What your interests are...your favorite classes....sports, etc. They may want to ask you if you ever had responsibility before...if you have, and they don't ask, tell them anyway...ex: "I babysat my brother". .... Or " I was in charge of decorating for a school dance:... etc.
As someone who has managed a large group of young employees, I would play it simple. Be honest, let them know what you like to do...Be confident, tell them what you plan on doing in the future, what you do now...lay out your plan. Smile, be yourself and most of all remember the manners that your parents taught you.

They will ask you how would handle an irate customer? They will ask you about your experiences with irate people %26amp; what you did to solve the problem. What do you think is great customer service?
You should wear clean slacks [no jeans], no tennis shoes, wear black dress shoes. A nice sweater ...Sunday dress =) Don't look away from your interviewer...don't let your eyes wander while talking or while questions are being asked. Have eye contact at all times. Smile =D. Keep your hands folded and don't fiddle with your fingers. Don't slouch. Be enthusiastic about the interview.... talk to the interviewer as if you've known them for awhile but don't talk too much.

2 weeks ago my cousin had an interview with amc. she dressed like a seriouse person, Black long skirt, black collard shirt with hi heels. (soething like that) and she told me they ask u questions like if u had any experiences with cashier, cleaning, etc and they also say about discounts and about not letting anyone in free, and at the end of it they would want u to summarize rules/policies and what to do if this or that happens. they go through emergency tasks.
get there early, dress professionally.
be prepared to answer these ?'s; tell me about yourself. why should we hire you? do you have or did you have a previous job? how well do you get along with others? can you come to work on short notice? how do feel about working weekends? do you have any hobbies? what do you think are your weakness? Don't worry, relax keep a cool tone. remember if you don't understand a question or need to hear it again don't be embarrssed to ask to have it repeated. get a good night sleep and best of luck to you.
If not what other companiese do you know of that do besides any bagboy jobs thank you.
Probably not, and very few companies will hire anyone under 16 because of all the red tape involved with hiring someone that young. Plus, 14 year olds are usually too immature (like 16 year olds are better) for holding down a job.

I'm going to see I Am Legend tomorrow (saturday) in Manhattan with two more friends. I'm going to the AMC Empire 25 theater, the one close to time square. I've never been to a movie theater in Manhattan though so i dont know what to expect. I got my tickets online for the 8:10 PM show. What time should I be there so we wet good seats or at least so we get our seats together? thanx in advance
depends on exactly where you want to sit. if you like to specifically sit with a rail in front of you, or without a seat in front of you, you should get there quite early. like 30 minutes. if where you sit doesnt bother you then you can cut it a little closer. the way i judge it is whether or not that movie theater has good previews/entertainment. some places have black screens till the previews, some places have tons of videos and music and stuff. good luck! its a great movie

Two live diamondback rattlesnakes were released in an Arizona movie theater during a showing of the new film "Snakes on a Plane," according to Local 6 News.
Authorities said pranksters released the young venomous rattlesnakes in a dark theater at the AMC Desert Ridge near Tatum and Loop 101 in Phoenix.
Your thoughts?
Yes, I agree that the venomous part is dangerous and that the pranksters took it too far. But the whole idea is genius if you think about it. LOL! I would have DIED if I was watching that movie and snakes were suddenly there on the floor in front of me. That would be something you would never forget and it would be absolutely HILARIOUS to look back on. If they weren't venomous I mean. But yeah, they should probably be placed in a jail for a while and fined cuz that's extremely dangerous.

of late i have not seen any listings for the AMC Springfield Mall 10, in VA, why is this? is the theater closed?
Yes, the Springfield Mall AMC is closed. The phone is not being answered either. There were a number of maintenance and other problems with the theater, and I guess they decided it wasn't worth the trouble to renovate. The Web page for Springfield Mall doesn't even list a movie theater as one of the tenants. See http://www.springfieldmall.com/Stores.as...

We live in the Green Bay area and my daughter got a $25.00 gift card to the AMC theater. The only AMC theater in Wisconsin is in Wauwatosa. I have no idea why she got this, but we can't use it. I would be willing to sell it for $20.00.
If interested, let me know. Thanks very much!
no but i work in a hotel and we get guests from there alot

I don't think I can watch it at the AMC theaters with all those sugered out teenagers.
Why God? WHYYYYYYYYYYY.

Why?????????????????????

Does anyone know the name of the movie?
It is not out in theaters yet and was a trailer today at an AMC theater for hairspray.

-meets this girl
-war comes
-i think sent to army
-scene of him going after the girl only to be split apart during a protest or mass gathering
-pg 13

For a showing of a specific movie, an AMC theater estimates that 120 ppl will attend if it is not raining. It is is raining, the theater estimates that 200 people will attend. The meteorologist predicts at 70% chance of rain tomorrow. Determine the expected number of poeple who will attend the movie.
(the answer is 176 people.)
Think of this as a weighted average.
the expected number of people will be the expected number of people if it is raining multiplied by the probability of rain plus the expected number of people if it is not raining multiplied by the probability of not raining.
Expected number of people
= 120 * P(not raining) + 200 * P(rain)
= 120 * 0.30 + 200 * 0.70
= 176
Math Help With Probability Please!?say yes opera theater
Take the difference between the two estimations (200 people if raining - 120 people if not raining = 80 people). The predictions differ by 80 people. Multiply 80 by the 70% chance of rain and you get 56. Add the 56 people to the 120 (or subtract it from the 200) and you get 176.
I had a salad in a restaurant when i was in L.A. last year. it was near westwood next to the AMC theater.
It had sliced avocadoes, tobiko (flying fish roe), lettuce and a bit of cucumber strips, and also a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Im looking for the salad dressing recipe...
its A WHITE salad dressing
it was sweet
it was kinda watery and NOT THICK.
HELP ME OUT! FIND ME THE RECIPE!
it was probably a White Miso dressing.
juice of half a lemon
quarter cup of seasoned rice wine vinegar
one tablespoon of white miso
one tablespoon of honey
sea salt and fresh pepper
half cup of grape seed oil
tablespoon of dark sesame seed oil
in a large bowl whip all ingredients except oils, together
while whisking, drizzle oil in whip like a mad person until all oil is blended. garnish with roasted sesame seeds.
Use only white miso. other kinds of misos are too strong in flavor.
I need help finding a recipe for this?getting late opera theater
the salad dressing is probably ranch
It sounds like a Tahini dressing. Here's one Tahini based recipe. Try it and if it's not what you want google for others:
1 clove smashed garlic
Salt
2 lemons
tablespoons sesame tahini
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup extra virgin oil
Add 4 cups of mesclun (mixed greens)
1 cup mixed lettuce
Rub the inside of a wooden salad bowl by pressing 1 clove smashed garlic with a pinch of salt. Mince the garlic and add to the bowl. Add juice from 2 lemons and 2 tablespoons sesame tahini, 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Gradually whisk in 1/2 cup extra virgin oil until well blended. Add 4 cups of mesclun blended with 1 cup mixed lettuce and toss.
Do you recall the name of the restaurant? If so, they may have a website. The site may include descriptions of menu items or at least contact info. so that you can email or call them for a recipe.
If you don't remember the name, you can get a # online for the AMC theater at that location, call the theater and ask them for the name of the restaurant nearby, then look up the restaurant's # and call them.
If they don't wanna give you their recipe, just tell them you're from out of town and that you'd be their best customer if you lived there, so "Pretty Please!"
Cuz i wanna take my 16 yr old girl to see one. But she says i need to be the parent so she can come with me. Do i have to be or can any adult go see a movie with a minor? Its an AMC theater if it makes a difference. %26gt;.%26gt; %26lt;.%26lt;
Yes, you need to be with someone who is 18. I would try it and if there is a problem, have a back up plan in place for another movie
Do you need to have a parent to see an R rated movie?ballet opera theater
Yep you do need a parent. unless you both are 17+. An adult can take a minor to see the movie if they stay and watch it with them.
i think as long as you have an adult ticket it doesn't matter that you're not the parent. i'd rather think over the fact that she wants you to pretend to be the parent? what's that about?
nope as long as ur 18 or older
It all depends on where you live and if they are paying attention to the fact that you are underage. I live in ny and i have never been asked for id and i have been seeing rated r movies since highschool.
its pretty easy to sneak in, but a ticket for another movie then go see the one you want to see.
yup till ur 18
no as long as the person that is with you is 18 or over
my 16yr. old friend works at the amc theater and just texted me 10 min. ago. i have been pondering about what to do and how to handle it. she said "I have a person that i am protecting." I asked her what she meant and she said "this lady I work with is being beaten and abused by her husband and he is a cop. i will kill him." i told her not to kill him 'cuase she will be tried as an adult and go to jail. she said "He beats a girl plus I will prove it so ye, I will kill him before he kills her" and I haven't texted back 'cause I don't know what to do or say her. if someone is hurting her friend(s) she will defend them at any cost and so is in many school fights so I believe she will defend this lady at all costs. but I don't want her to do the wrong thing you know. what do we do. you can't just go 2 the cops about another cop beating his wife it doesnt work that way but what can we do to get evidence and prove it and put him away the right way and help her friend? I am really scared.
If she and her daughters are in harms way, they need to get out of there...FAST. Document what she can and believe it or not, not all cops will cover for a wife %26amp; child beater. If they do, go to the state's attorney and file a complaint. Killing the guy just is not the answer.....let him go to prison and answer there.
I have a really, really, really important question!!...?sheet music opera theater
Tell your friend to tell her to get to a women's shelter pronto.
call your friends parents. she cant go around killing people...but good luck!
all text messages are used against you in a court of law.
Mind your own business!
If you call the cops and it's nothing except your friend being crazy..........what then????
don't text her back.
tell your parent.
ask them what to do!
Call a domestic violence hotline. You can call 411 or look in the phone book. Do it NOW! They will tell you what to do.
Please call the authorities........IMMEDIATELY!
If he is beating her, the proof will be evident.
use the cell and take pics. try and recorded whatever u can. there has to be somenone on the force she can talk to. call his captain and his partner, there has to be someone who can help her. call the police, at least they can start an investigation. this a critical situation do not take matters into your own hands!!!!!!!!!call 911!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
your best bet for all of you is to get some evidence or talk to this women when the cop husband is at work and tell her to go see a doctor to take photos of her injurys. The only way to stop abuse is to report it with evidence. Since he's a cop...it will be more difficult but she can go to victims services for their protective help* if she doesn't she may end up dead..or your friend that will do anything to protect someone will end up doing alot of time in jail :(
The WIFE needs to stand up for her rights and see either Victims Services or Shelters for battered women* GOODLUCK*
Your friend is planning to kill someone and plead defense of others. However, the fact that she has told you will likely preclude that defense. The reasoning is, if she had time to tell someone and -at least in theory-plan it, it is premeditated.
If your friend's friend won't call the police to protect her, your friend should do it for her. Spouse abuse is a serious matter and if the abused spouse will pursue the matter, the courts tend to not take it lightly. As a minimum your friend should help her friend physically remove herself from the situation.
This lady will continue to take it until she decides not to anymore.
Tell your 16 year old friend to back off (forcefully) because this will bite her in the butt.
She doesn't get to kill someone else's dragon. If she wants this battle to be hers, she will have to find her own abusive partner. If she steps in and does battle for this woman, it prolongs the battle because the woman doesn't have to stand up for herself.
that is a corrupt cop and no one including the justice sytem is going to protect a corrupt cop unless they are all corrupt. so take some pictures of the womens beating and then go and make copies and then give them as proof to the police and if nothing is done then go somewhere else and keep doing so and find a lawer. but first and most importantly get the beaten women away from her husband and protect in ur home or in another persons home so he wouldn t know where she is. the other things dont really matter unless she is in a safe place. tell ur freind that there are other ways than doing what she plans on doing and the only real payback would be to watch him suffer from losing his wife and going to jail. i dont believe that that is true but it is something that she would like to hear. and by killing him he wouldnt really feel the pain of losing a wife and freedom. GOODLUCK!!! i really wish the best!
You need to talk to the lady involved. She needs to stop confiding in and expecting a 16 year old to help. She is being ridiculous. She can go to a women's shelter and get help. She can leave him. She could go to the chief police officer or D.A. if she needs to with her own proof. Don't get involved and get your daughter out of that situation before she ends up in Juvie.
First, if she has bruises or any sign of abuse, tell her to have somebody take photos, then with or without photos she need to go to the police. Policemen are not exempt of the law.
A professor once told me: if you have a problem with someone; either at work, family, social circle; anywhere, there's always someone above that person to whom you can take a complain to.
This policeman is abusing your friend because in a way he thinks your friend has nowhere to go.
She needs to go talk to this man's superiors, the sooner the better. And if she has witness, photos, anything, the better.
Best of luck to both of you.
OK First of all there will be no fighting of any kind! And NO killing ever! Calm down and take a deep breath. And call your friend tell her to do the same thing. DON'T BE STUPID
If she does kill him she will be no better than him. Her friend needs to go to a shelter where she will be protected. Maybe in a different town. Maybe you should talk to some policeman in a different town too about her problem. She needs to go to a hospital when she gets beat up and have them take pictures of her. Pictures/video of her bruises will prove her case.
I was visiting California and went to the AMC theater to see Be Kind Rewind, but before it I was enjoying some really great previews. There was one which looked like a HORRIBLE movie because it was so gruesome and bloody. I don't remember anything about the actors or the title, but it was about this family of three being terrorized by two young guys. One looked similar to Lucas Grabeel. The woman being terrorized looked similar to Keira Knightley or a blonde Natalie Portman. The two guys (including the one that looked like Grabeel) were whacking and tripping the family with golf clubs. There was one part where one of the men said to the family, "Let's make a bet. You bet you will be alive tomorrow, we bet you won't." Or something of the sort. I think it comes out in 2008. My best friend would be very interested with this movie and I want to find out what it is for her! Does anyone know?

I went to AMC theater. I checked in and walk around the lobby to wait for movie to start. The security followed me and eventually asked me to show him my ticket. I didn't go into other movie room to watch the movie I didn't pay for. I was just walking around the lobby. Does he has the right to check my ticket?
Thanks.
If you have spent a lot of time wandering around, they may be making sure you're not trying to sneak into another movie or just waiting for another one to start. It's a private business that has the right to protect it's product(s). You purchased a ticket for one product, they are making sure you are not stealing from them by trying to see another film without paying.
Does the security has the right to check my movie ticket if I am still at lobby?binoculars opera theater
He wants to see if you're a paying customer or just loitering around.
And yes, they have the right.
Yup. Their house, their rules. Unless they somehow violate another law (anti-discrimination, etc.), simply asking to see your ticket sounds like a perfectly reasonable request. As a private property owner, they have a right to prevent trespassing. Just because their belief was wrong, does not mean that they acted illegally.
Yes, if you're in a private place of business, they may question you as long as you are on their property. This is the same principle many theme parks and concert venues are invoking when they search people's bags.
You bet. A security officer is an agent of the owner and is responsible for protection of the owner's interests... Including making sure that persons loitering inside the establishment are authorized to be there. A movie ticket is a definable authorization and the security officer was completely within his rights to check it.

Are you a fan of the salad dressing served in Japanese restaurants? Basically, Japanese-style salad dressing is made of soy sauce, vinegar, and vegetable oil. To arrange the flavor, other ingredients, such as grated onion, carrots, apples, ginger, and sesame are added. Adding wasabi also makes a good dressing. I list some basic Japanese dressing recipes below. Arrange the recipes as you like. Enjoy! The most commonly used vinegar dressing is called sanbai-zu and is made of rice wine vinegar, soysauce, and sugar. Adjust the amount of seasonings as you prefer. INGREDIENTS:
2 tbsps rice wine vinegar
5 tbsps vegetable oil
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp sugar
PREPARATION:
Mix all the ingredients other than oil in a bowl. Add oil gradually into a bowl and mix well.

i wanna go see one at an amc theater, me and a bunch of friends, we're all juniors, could we get in if we show our high school id, or are we going to have a problem.
Uuuhh. Well, they're probably not going to let you in with just your school I.D. if it doesn't have your age. Use the traditional sneaking-in method. XD Always works. Good luck!

You might have a problem, a few friends and I went to see "hannibal" (you know when it came out, whenever) and my friends brother was 25 at the time and they card-ed everyone. It may depend on the theatre...?
Your gonna have a problem. They have to ID you to che if your under 18. if you are under 18, unless your with a parent or adult they won't let you in.
I have had this problem when I went 2 c Borat... It really depends which movie theater you go to. Always bring an ID that shows your age. (at least if your old enough...if not make a fake ID and get it lamented)
no because most high school ids tell what year you are. fresh, soph, Jr., Sr., and there for they Can guess your age by your grade. so i doubt it will work your better off trying to sneak in. good luck.
An AMC theater in Texas?
Most large theatre chains start their entry-level employees at minimum wage, which is currently $5.85 USD, or slightly higher. As these jobs require no real skill and are highly sought after by teens and young adults (a typical perk is free admission to movies) there's no need for them to pay any more :)
Will be Tysons corner mall open on Chirstmas??
If they close early, what time would that be??
and How about AMC theater??
The mall itself will be closed but the Theatre will be open.

How clean is the AMC? You can usually judge if you can get in based on cleanliness. How much they actually care about the theater. And if you manage to sneak in, will they check for tickets? You've most likely been to this theater, what have you seen in the past. Make sure the movie is good before going through the trouble of seeing it. Usually it's not worth it.
Find a homeless person, offer to give them money for a bottle of vodka if they will pretend to be your parent and buy the tickets. See South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut for more details.
when I was your age I did not even know that R rated movies even existed.any way have patience, you'll be surprised to know the availability of shows available for you to see that will entertain you and satisfy your craving for the "R". believe me, from the moment one begins to want what he can not have will get him-her into trouble "not necessarily with the law or your parents but with your own self " I am by no means trying to preach to you. From my own experience I have found out that waiting and living life on your present age level has served me well. what I mean by it is that at any given age we learn a little more that will serve us and guide us for tomorrow. so dream on, smell today's flowers and enjoy what life has to offer you today. tomorrow is another day.
Most movie theaters check ID's. But my advice is to come with someone who is over age 18 and should definitely get in. I know that from experience, oh eons ago.
when I got hired for a job at an AMC theater yesterday. One of the managers was helping me and another new hire out, and she was saying that 0 would have the government take more out now, but give me more back later, or something like that, so I just claimed 0. Was that the best thing to do? I'm an 18-year-old still living with my parents (in California), and I'm a full-time college student
Some people say that it's better to just claim 1, take a bigger paycheck, and deposit some of it into a savings account with interest, and just pay the government back with that if I owe them. If I claim 0, then I'm practically giving the government an interest-free loan. The savings account I have is WaMu and I believe it's .25% (a month, I think)...is that gonna yield much over time?
Any professional advice?
You are still a dependent of your parents, so you should claim zero. You aren't giving an interest free loan to the government because that's all you are entitled to. If you were NOT a dependent, you'd be entitled to claim 1 - since you are though, your parents get your exemption and you don't get one.
If you make under $5350 for the year you won't owe anything in taxes, so if you make less than about $103 a week they won't take anything out anyway for federal income tax, so it won't matter what you put on your W-4.
If you are making over that they'll take something out because they take out like you make that much every week all year. So this year, unless you had a job earlier, you'll get back whatever is taken out - you'll have to file a tax return though to get it. For next year, if you make over around that amount (limit will be a little higher for 2008) then you'd owe some tax. Then if you filed your W-4 as 1 instead of 0, you'd probably owe around $350 when you filed - putting the money into your savings account each week, if you had the discipline to do that, would make you about $8 interest for the year. Legally you are supposed to file for no more allowances than you are entitled to, though.
I claimed 0 on my W-4...?state theatre opera theater
By claiming -0- you have allowed the federal government to use your money with no return for you. Let's say you are entitled to receive a refund of $500, then that's all you get. If you had claimed 1 during the year, you get that $500 through out the year, and could have used it or put it away in savings in small incremental amounts. Many people don't care that they're loaning the gov't their money with no return, because it's like Christmas in April.
it is a horrible way to save money but if you find it hard to put money away and sometimes at your age it can be hard you did a good thing...in the spring you will get a bigger return and at that time you will have the option of putting some into a IRA....i did it this way to when i was your age because saving was tough.
If you're going to make less than $5350 this year, you won't owe any tax. (That's the standard deduction amount.) You can claim exempt on this year's w-4. You have to remember to change it for 2008, though, if you're going to keep working through the year. Single 0 is correct for you.
Since it's nearly December, and you're going to get one check with withholding on it anyway, I'd just leave it and file in January to get my withholding back.
Keep your money and invest it, it's a good discipline to develop at a young age. You should be OK claiming single and 1 exemption. Might want to check to see if your parents are still claiming you.

Can i use a mall gift card for...?opera ticket opera theater
i tink u can......cuz da theatre is technically in the mall:]...
Ask the theater. Most of the times, it includes all of the businesses that are included at that mall. However, some of the stores actually lease the facility separately and do not follow the same rules as a 'mall' store would.
If it has a visa/mastercard logo, than yes, be aware that some places charge a transaction fee, and some places check the actual card, for example they'll scan it for $70 to see if there is any money there and actually conduct the transaction for $17 the rest of the money is then place back on the card for about 3 to 5 business days later. The key to this is, to always know how much is on the card to give the exact amount to be charged and inform the clerk that it is a gift card and not a debit or actual credit card.
If the card is specifically for the mall then I can't see why not. If it has the visa/mastercard logo you probably can.
Its best to check at the information desk in the mall.
Why not check out: http://www.clubshop.com/cgi-bin/rd/6,122...
This site has giftcards for many stores across the US. You can also get SuperCertificates that work just like credit cards - great for last minute presents and hard to buy for friends or relatives.

I worked at an AMC. Ugh, it was hell. The concessions counter is disgusting and infested with pests, and I don't just mean the other employees.
JCPenny is probably more sanitary.
Is there anyone here who has experience with job interviews at AMC theaters? What kind of questions do they ask? I know they ask personal things such as "What's your favorite movie?" because they asked my friend that, but I can't get a hold of him to ask what else they asked. What about the more serious, typical job interview questions? This is my first interview in months.
Anyone presently (or previously) employed by AMC, your input would greatly be appreciated
Also, I slightly recall my friend telling me that his first interview was them was one-on-one, then a second one was a group (multiple applicants) interview (or maybe vice versa)
Does anyone have experience with group interviews?
Group interviews are not a bad thing, just hope that you are not the first one to give an answer.
Best wishes to you on that interview.
I just applied to AMC and I really hope I getthe job. I'm 16 and it would be my first job, besides babysitting, I love film so I cant wait.
It was the best time of my love. The pay is crappy, but you will meet SO many new friends and people. I worked there when I was 17 and worked there for 2 1/2 years, I was promoted to manager in 3 months, I met my first love, one of my best friends, and can honestly say it was one of the best times of my life and a huge growing experience. The theater I worked for was a Century and a little laid back (obviously since I was one of the managers, even though I ran a tight ship) you get to see movies for free, AND dry runs too. That's where you get to stay until like midnight and preview the movie before it comes out when the theater is all closed down. THAT's when we had the most fun. We got into so much mischief, and my staff was the coolest bunch of kids, you'll just love it. Tip: get in good with a manager, with it comes lots of perks, trust me.
Have fun, work hard and HAVE FUN!! You'll love it, I promise!

good luck at getting the job!
Good luck. :P
yeah well i hope that you know that youre not gonna be able to watch the movies
It looks like fun working at a movie theater, you get your friends a discount and all the popcorn you can eat also all the candy you can eat also you get to watch movies for free as well(I think). But yea, hope you get the job, GOOD LUCK!!! :)
I hope it works out for you. Best wishes.
good luck
The largest I found so far is a 25-screen AMC in New York City. Are there any larger ones?
In South Barrington, IL there is an AMC 30.
What is the largest movie theater in the US/World?ballet theater opera theater
Well...
I couldn't find a theater with more than 25 screens... but all you asked was for the LARGEST movie theater...
so technically, it's in the Orlando Science Center. Its eight-story CineDome is billed as the world's largest movie theater.
New York City has the largest one I know of.
In olathe ks there is 30 screen theatre called studio 30 with amc.
I graduated from Full Sail Film School in Orlando with a Degree in Film but I can't seem to find a job that pays. I worked on several Music Videos and other projects as a Production Assistant but that's not paying the bills. Now, I'm a Projectionist for AMC Theaters. Somebody help!! What do I do?
You will probably need to look outside of your field of study - at least at first.
Also, look for networking groups for film people - that's the best way to find out about opportunities before everyone else hears about them.
Best of luck! (You picked a hard field to crack!)
Have A Degree but can't find a Job. What should I do?concert tickets opera theater
put resumes in online looking for employment. my sister got a degree in mass comm but found a job in another field all together. she was able to get a job easier because she had a degree even though it wasn't even in her field. she also took on a second job at one time just because she wasn't making enough in her field. but sites like monster.com are good because not just people in your area are looking at your resume, people in other cities etc can look at it too and possibly open more oppurunities for you
How can we get mackey home?
we have this group at school were like family.."..but recently a friend of ours from our group had to relocate to massachusetts with 2 days notice last week...our coach/best friend/whos also a bio teach at our school is having a baby next month and we want to get him back asap...we really miss him...everyone does....ughh anyways..what we have started is we sold whats left of our funraising from our team last year and asked for donations for a ticket home for him...were going to go to amc theaters where he used to work and get the rest of his paycheck....but we only have half the ticket amount...my question is how can we get him home...he really wants to come home...and is very welcome to...how can we get donations.....we were thinking about caroling down town at christmas in the park..but do you have to ask the citys permission...can you actually do that...
why not go house to house caroling. make up a sign saying please make a donation to get mackey home for Christmas and put it on a basket. people are caring and i'm sure they will make a donation. good luck.
how old do you have to be to work at chick-fil-a?
what about AMC theaters?
are there any other companies that hire at age 14?
help?
I don't know where u live but here in FL, u can work at Winn-Dixie or Publix (grocery stores) at 14 being a bagger.
Places to work..... at age 14?oper opera theater
I don't think its a problem with written permission from parents. Look into it. Its no problem delivering newspapers and such. I think you can.
if you live in burbank i dont think there is a good job for you..if your 14 like me stay at home and ask for money
i did it on walmart...which i exited so it wasnt submitted
and i did it on AMC theaters.
thats about it..
well for one the only reason they would ask you online is if you were appling for a job. that would really be the only acception. they shouldn't ask you if you were buying something.well if you don't have good protection on your computer a hacker could get your number and could do identity theft. nothing bad should really happen if you a cautious of what you do. just pay more attention next time you do these kind of things.
Is it safe to give out social security number on online applications?theater opera theater
no, no and no. Never. It will probably be okay. But some people copy logos and pretend to be someone they are not to get personal infor to misuse.
Some AMC dude might steal your identity.
ur probably fine..but i wouldn't give it online if u don't have to and especially never give it over the phone
I've put my ssn on online applicant websites before, nothing has happend. As long as you see the little lock symbol at the bottom on the screen, your fine.
I'm most likely going to be hired at AMC Theaters, and they only allow one piercing per ear. The problem is I have my ears pierced more than once, and the moment I take the earrings out, the piercing hole completely closes up. Are there any special earrings which you can wear that are invisible, yet keep your ears from sealing? I'm sure a lot of other people have run into this problem with piercings that aren't allowed in their jobs, so if you could give me a hand I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!!
to put the clear one in you would have to take the current one out, thus allowing it to close up
Where can I get clear, see-through earrings?theatre opera theater
claire's, hot topic, spencer's.. any tatto/piercing studio.
if all else fails, thread a needle with some of that plastic thread (you can buy a spool of this at walmart for $1) and run it through the hole several times, then tie a knot on the back part.
works every time.

...at AMC Theaters in Atlanta, Georgia? Or...where can I find out this info? I'm not looking for one of those "go to www.website.com and look to see what basic entry-level management positions start at"...because that is so vague and terrribly incorrect. I know it varies with the company...but this is a specific company. Who works there, and what do you make as a supervisor/manager in other areas of the U.S.?
I am a 18 year old senior and I am taking a 16 year old girl I met at work to a date. The date I was thinking of is dinner and a movie. I was wondering what do I do during out time together. The place I am taking here is called the Easton Town Center which has a lot of stores and restaurants and perhaps one of the biggest AMC theaters. It has gameworks and there is a huge Mcdondalds (looks like 2 storys) there with a singing booth which also has a place to games (bourd and video)
Aw, I'd skip the movie for a first date. Too much time NOT talking. Plus, unless you specifically go to a kids flick, there's always the possibility of an awkward scene in the movie. But it sounds like there are lots of fun things to do at that center. Have fun and good luck!
What do I do on a first date?the grand theater opera theater
go to www.funnewjersey.com hope its help ;)
Sounds like a good plan. just talk!
Do NOT take her to a McDonald's to eat. Otherwise, hit everything in that center you both have an interest in. Just talk alot. Also, plan something. Don't make yourself seem uninterested in the date by just going willy-nilly. Plan the restaurant. Make a suggestion about the movie.
That sounds amazing..good date.
watch the age though remember your an adult and she is just a kid.
Seems like you have everything planned. Maybe you would like to ask her what she likes to do so it's not all your idea. Get to know her and take your time.
Well I think your idea sounds ok. Question is have u ever been on a date cuz u sound like u havent? U sound really nervous actually. But I suggest that u get some confidence and anything u do with her she will enjoy. :)
look first of all don't be nervous girls hate it when guys r nervous and then we get nervous! kk?? and second of all when u r in the movie theatre don't spend the whole time trying to figure out when the right time to be to kiss us! it is a TOTAL turn off! i mean if she said yes in the first place that means that she like u! unless she is a shalow B****! kk? but yea actually pay attention to the movie and if their is singing then go for it cuz well honestly girls love it when u make a complete and total fool of them selves!
I think it sounds like you have it planned out, but I think you should pick a movie that is an action, comedy, or horror movie.
Good Luck.....and I hope it goes well.
okay main thing to do is buy her food crack up some funny jokes and make her feel like a princess
talk and walk around
I'm 17
And I applied for jobs at FYE and at AMC theaters.
It hasn't been a week yet, just 5 days.
But if you don't hear from them in while, should you call the place?
Definitely!
Make a follow up call saying something like "I applied online and wanted to see if you guys received everything?"
It is always a good idea to check back, especially if you applied online, not in person!
If you apply for a job online, should you call them a week later?chinese theater opera theater
It's always good to call back becuz it makes them think 'This person really wants a job" maybe if you call back they'll get you a interview over the phone..
I have an Associates Of Science Degree in Film. I'm a Film Projectionist for AMC Theaters. I got a few Filmmaking jobs after I graduated from Full Sail Film SChool but they weren't paying the bills. What else is out there without me paying for school again.
I was a double major in college and got two bachelor degrees. One in "Film and Digital Media" and the other in "Information Systems" (computer science with a business bend). I wanted a "filmmaking" job, but to be honest, they don't pay nearly enough as an IT job. The high paying IT jobs require that you have at least a bachelor's degree. It helps you get into the door of most major companies. But seriously, experience is king in this IT field. Typically, companies might substitute at least 3 years of work experience instead of a degree. It also gives you more freedom in leaving your work if you don't like it because the company you work for now knows you are a good worker, not necessarily your next employer. A bachelors degree gives them more confidence that this guy is reliable, smart, and was disciplined enough to stick with a 4 year program. Also, I've heard that it helps you later as you advance in your profession. I personally believe that knowledge you learn is never wasted, and in general you'll always need to learn new things because things keep changing all the time.
As far as Film is concerned, I find it more of an apprenticeship type field. You make friends with someone who has a great job in your interest area in film (editing, cinematography, acting, directing, tv production, make-up artist) and ask him/her if they'd allow you to be their assistant. If you do a good job, they might ask you back on the next project they work. Who knows, this mentor's boss might notice and contact you directly for their next project. It is more of a gamble and a bit longer of a struggle to make it in film. Conversely, you don't really need a bachelor's degree for it. Contacts are more important.
Generally (regardless of field), I think that if you don't have a bachelor's degree, get your work out there and impress people with your real world work experience. Network, have some good contacts. If you do decide to get a degree, a double major should be considered only if you like both areas cuz so far as I can tell, its only confused employers as to what I really want to do.
Who has a Bachelor's Degree? Does it really matter so much?star theater opera theater
It depends on your field of study. Yes, a Bachelor's degree (or lack thereof) matters to a lot of employers, but it needs to also be the right Bachelor's degree. If you are going to go get a degree in History, and want to do something other than be an Historian, the market isn't going to reward you much for having that degree.
If money is truly that important to you, you need to re-think your career choices. If you really want this particular career and money is secondary to you, then seek out the counsel of somebody in your field whom you admire and ask them to advise you about how to best pursue your ambition in your chosen career.
I have a bachelor's degree in Accounting. To go into that field, you really need the degree, plus additional certification. However, for a field such as filmmaking, some of the highly successful people have degrees in filmmaking, some do not.
If you want to change careers without returning to school, you will need to choose a field where a degree is not required, or is optional. Alot of retail and restaurant managers have no degree or a degree in an unrelated field.
I can't address your particular field from direct experience, but in my field DEFINITELY! Your resume is usually the first information a potential employer learns about you. A great education sets you apart from the other resumes. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and my MBA. It has opened several doors that otherwise would have remained closed. You can't have too much education.
I'm a Film SChool Graduate with an Associates in Film. I haven't had much Film work since I graduated from Full Sail in Florida. I've been a Projectionist for AMC theaters for about two years now and it pays the bills, but I would like to make a little more money. I refuse to do anymore college because school is too much of a head ache and I suck at it, I bearly passed Film SChool and I love Film. I just got married two weeks ago and I would like to know if anyone knows any good jobs out there that would hire someone with an Associates Degree?
Try getting a job w/ your state. A civil servant. They don't really care what you are trained in, but can find a spot for you. They usually have great benefits.
What is a good job for someone with an Associates Degree?opera songs opera theater
Well, for someone with your qualifications, I would guess being a Projectionist or a theatre usher is about as good as it's going to get.
Film school grads with Associates Degrees are just about a dime a dozen... or cheaper...
You might see if you can get a job in a TV station as a junior Director or a floor director or Videographer.... but there is a long line for entry level positions in TV.
Generally the trades are suited to workers with associate degrees. And some of them pay pretty well.
Examples include:
Laborers
Mechanics
Painters
Carpenters
i think you just answered your own question. an associates in film isn't going to get you very far and neither is refusing to go back to school.
The AA degree is really nothing, It is just a stepping stone for the next level. I have an AA degree and the reason I got is so I can say I went to college.
Can someone help me find some places that i can apply Online for jobs. I'm 16 and i know that places are starting the new trend of applying online. I just want some ideas to get me started on job hunting once again. I know that Best Buy and AMC Theaters do online aps.
It'd be helpful if i had a list or something of companys that hire online. I live in MI so anything in that area or any popular store that is within the entire US.
